Q. What is the Pro Display XDR?
A. It is a new 6K very high-end, professional, reference grade 32-inch monitor.
Q. What's reference grade?
A. It must be capable of displaying images and video accurately - so accurately, it can be used as the "reference" for all other output/media playback. There are many reference standards to support - the Pro Display XDR actually supports all the current (summer 2019) reference standards.
Q. When will the Pro Display XDR be available to buy?
A. The Pro Display XDR will be available to buy in the autumn of 2019.
Q. How much will the Pro Display XDR cost?
A. The standard model without a stand starts at US$4999 but there are some options and accessories available - see below.
Q. What are the different models?
A. There are two options:
  • Standard model
  • Nano-texture glass model - has a special, matte finish on the screen to reduce reflective glare

A. Apple currently lists:

Q. Can I use the Pro Display XDR on a different computer to the new Mac Pro (2019 model)?
A. Yes. As long as the computer has Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) connectivity and video hardware capable of driving the monitor.
Q. Can the Pro Display XDR charge my Mac laptop?
A. Yes. As long as the computer has Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C connectivity. The Pro Display XDR can supply 96W host charging.
